I've been thinking a lot about the community's response after the terrible events at the Todel Apartments. Samira Pisciotti was not only a diligent building manager but a beacon of strength and kindness for everyone who knew her. It's important we remember her for who she was—a devoted grandmother and an earnest worker who truly cared about her community. It’s incredible how she and her husband, Italo, always put others first, even in such dire circumstances. I've heard stories about how Samira would take her granddaughter on walks around the neighborhood, always making time for family despite her demanding responsibilities at the apartment complex. She truly was the heart of that building. In many ways, her loss has been a devastating blow not just to her family, but to everyone who knew her in Hialeah. She kept everyone in line with her strict but fair approach, yet had a heart full of compassion. Her legacy as a pillar of the community is something we should continue to uphold and remember. My thoughts are with her family, who are left to grapple with this tragic loss. Let’s all take a moment to honor her memory by supporting each other in this difficult time.
