I’ve been thinking about Betty Jo Richards and the world she lived in back in the early '70s. It must have been truly terrifying to be a young woman at that time, especially in smaller communities where everyone knew everyone. The idea that she could just be snatched away from her life so violently is incomprehensible. It’s chilling to think about the atmosphere in Quinton back then, and I can only imagine how her family must have felt, especially with all the uncertainty around the case. What’s also troubling is how Jack Trawick managed to evade detection for so long. Even though he was eventually caught and confessed, it leaves me wondering if Betty’s case could have been resolved sooner. It's upsetting to think her family had to wait decades for any semblance of closure, if they even got that. I hope sharing stories like Betty’s can help keep the memory of these victims alive and maybe even spark new leads or discussions.
