Does anyone else find it unsettling how quickly and discreetly Richard Rogers Jr. was able to blend into his environment? The fact that he worked at Mount Sinai Medical Center for over two decades is absolutely chilling when you think about it. It makes you wonder about the people you interact with every day – they can seem perfectly ordinary yet harbor such dark secrets. I can't imagine the fear and uncertainty that lingered in the community back then. It also raises concerns about the stigmas that may have impeded earlier investigations into these kinds of crimes. My heart goes out to Peter Stickney Anderson’s friends and family. Many people were likely leading lives of quiet fear during that time, and it's haunting to think about how the cultural climate might have delayed justice.
