I came across some older articles and a few interviews with Leah's friends that painted such a vivid picture of who she was. Leah seemed like someone who truly embraced life, and it breaks my heart to think about how her light was extinguished so tragically. Her friends mentioned how she'd often host these incredible dinner parties—apparently, her lasagna was legendary! It's clear she was a beloved part of the Park Slope community, and I can't imagine the void her absence must have left in so many lives. I often wonder if more could have been done to catch Rifkin sooner, sparing Leah and the other women. It's a chilling case, and her story especially sticks with me. Love to her family and friends who carry her memory with them. ??

I’ve been thinking a lot about what Leah's family went through during those months of uncertainty. It’s unimaginable to consider that they spent so much time not knowing what happened to her, just hoping for any news. Losing a loved one is painful enough, but to have them vanish this way and later learn of such a horrendous fate must be beyond devastating. In cases like this, I also wonder how her children have coped after losing their mother in such a traumatic manner. Leah's memory and spirit truly deserve to be honored, and I hope her kids have found some peace and support as they navigated life with such an awful weight on their shoulders. These tragic stories remind us of the importance of community support and keeping the stories of victims alive. It’s crucial that we keep remembering Leah and all the other women Rifkin affected so deeply.
