I recently came across a mention of the Squires case, and I just can't stop thinking about the sheer randomness of it all. Theodore Squires was just at home, probably winding down his day when he answered his door, and the next moment, his life was completely upended. It's the kind of scenario that really shakes your sense of security, knowing that something so random and senseless can happen. My heart goes out to the Squires family and the other victims. It’s terrifying to consider how the whole community in Riverhead must have been on edge, never knowing where or who might be targeted next. I’m glad there was eventually some closure, but it’s hard to imagine the lasting impact on everyone involved.
