I’ve been thinking a lot about the bread deliveryman who came upon Vivian Sutton Miles' store that tragic day. It must have been such a chilling experience to find her like that and then be faced with Pierce, especially when he fired at him. I can’t imagine the fear and adrenaline he felt in that moment, not to mention the immense pressure of later having to identify Pierce in court. What he went through was incredibly traumatic, but his testimony was so crucial in putting Pierce behind bars. It makes me ponder how one brief, terrifying encounter can impact a person’s life so significantly. My heart goes out to him, along with Vivian’s family and friends. They’ve all had to carry these heavy memories with them for so long. Anyone else have thoughts on how such events can shape the lives of unintended witnesses?
