I've been thinking a lot about the Jennie Morman case, and it makes me wonder about the role that DNA evidence could play in cold cases. It’s so tragic that with all the advancements we now have, Jennie didn’t get the justice she deserved earlier. It’s heart-wrenching to think how many more lives could have been spared if there had been more resources and technology available back then.
The part that really gets to me is the constant trauma Jennie's family must have gone through, not just from losing her but knowing that someone like Reginald Perkins was still out there. It’s such a grim reminder of how the justice system sometimes struggles to keep up, especially with cases involving repeat offenders. The advancements in DNA testing have been game changers, but there's always that lingering thought of how many similar cases might remain unresolved. How do we prevent this from happening again in the future? My thoughts are with Jennie’s family, hoping they might find some measure of peace with what has been unearthed over the years.
