Was anyone else aware that Jamel was a big advocate for veterans after he retired from the Army? I've been reading through the local news and some posts from people who knew him, and it seems like he spent a lot of his time supporting fellow vets in the Houston area. He was involved in a couple of initiatives to help veterans transition back into civilian life, which is such a challenging process for many. It's so sad to see someone who dedicated a significant portion of his life to serving his country and community be taken in such a senseless way. His contributions went beyond just his military service; he was actively giving back and making a difference after his retirement. It's another layer of loss for the community that looked up to him. Thoughts go out to his family, especially his kids, who must be feeling his absence profoundly. Hoping for answers and justice soon.
