I've been following the tragic case of Asonta Lamont James Woodley's shooting in Milwaukee, and my heart goes out to his family and friends who must be going through an unimaginable time. It’s incredibly concerning to see how these incidents keep happening in the city. I’m particularly worried about how the community near 24th Place and Capitol Drive is coping. It must be terrifying for residents to know this happened in their neighborhood, especially in broad daylight. I’ve read some discussions about how this kind of violence affects everyone, not just the immediate victims, and it’s so true. Kids playing outside, people just going about their daily lives—how do you feel safe after something like this? I hope more people in the community come forward with information, no matter how small it may seem. As we've often seen, even the tiniest piece of a puzzle can be crucial in helping law enforcement track down those responsible. It's going to take a collective effort to assist the police and bring some semblance of peace back to the area. Stay safe, everyone, and let’s keep the conversation going about how we can support each other and push for change to prevent more losses like Asonta's.
