Hey everyone,
I can't stop thinking about the location where Froilan Ortiz was found. The Steel Bridge area in Old Town is known for its transient population and, sadly, its rise in crime. It’s so unsettling to hear how gunshots rang out in this neighborhood that's often regarded as a sanctuary for those experiencing homelessness. The sound reportedly bouncing off fences must have been terrifying for folks in the area.
Froilan's death is the 13th homicide in Portland this year, which is just really concerning. It makes you wonder about the safety and resources available in these communities. I hope the increasing violence gets more attention because every life lost is devastating to a family, to friends, and to the community.
If anyone out here has information or witnessed anything, even if it seems minor, please consider reaching out to the authorities. It could bring some peace to Froilan’s family and maybe prevent future tragedies. Stay safe, everyone.
I can't stop thinking about the growing number of violent incidents happening in our city, especially in areas like Old Town where Froilan Ortiz was tragically killed. The fact that this happened in a part of town with so many vulnerable individuals living in tents is particularly concerning. It’s unsettling to imagine how those living there must feel witnessing something so horrific.
Portland has been seeing way too many of these kind of tragedies. Ortiz’s death being the 13th homicide this year is a stark reminder that we need more proactive measures to combat these senseless acts of violence. My thoughts are with Froilan’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. I truly hope the community starts feeling safer soon, and I urge anyone with any details about that morning to share what they know. Every little detail could make a difference in finding justice for Froilan.
