I keep thinking about the incredible strength it must take for Isaiah Caldwell's family to face each day after this senseless tragedy. Visiting a campus event should be about making memories, not losing a life. The fact that this happened during a celebration like the Viking Fest Yard Fest makes it even more difficult to process. I really hope the increased security measures at ECSU help bring some peace of mind to everyone on campus, but it's so disconcerting that there haven't been any arrests yet. It's good to hear that counseling services are being offered; being on the ground when something like this happens must be incredibly traumatic. Here's hoping that someone comes forward with information soon. Caldwell's family deserves closure and justice for their loss, and ECSU deserves to know its campus is safe again. ?️

I wanted to talk a bit about the community response to the tragedy at ECSU. It’s been really moving to see how students, faculty, and staff have come together to support one another after the devastating loss of Isaiah Caldwell. From holding vigils to creating makeshift memorials, it's clear how deeply this event has impacted everyone. I can't imagine the pain Isaiah’s family must be going through, and my heart goes out to them and anyone else affected by this senseless act of violence. The fact that those injured are on the path to recovery is a relief, but the stress and fear this incident has caused can't be understated. Seeing the ECSU community stepping up with counseling resources and open dialogues for healing shows immense resilience and compassion. I hope these efforts bring some comfort and strength in the days ahead. If anyone knows anything about what happened, please speak up. Clarifying what occurred during Viking Fest could be crucial in preventing this from happening in the future. We all want justice for Isaiah and safety for the ECSU community. Stay strong, everyone.
