Has anyone else been following the recent developments on the tragic incident in Altgeld Gardens? It's such a somber situation, and my heart truly goes out to Makai’s family and friends. I was thinking about how this affects the whole community, especially young people who saw Makai as a peer. It's just so important we remember that these aren't just statistics—it’s real people and families torn apart by violence. The lingering impact on those who survive these events, like the other two injured teens, must be immense. It makes me wonder, what kind of support systems are in place for them and for other young people in the neighborhood? I really hope the authorities can find some leads soon, but in the meantime, I hope there's a focus on community support and healing.
