Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Ashton Jackson on here, and it’s just a really somber reminder of how much gun violence affects our communities, especially in places like Atlanta. Something that’s been on my mind lately in relation to this case is the reward that was offered for information leading to Gillespie's arrest. The $5,000 reward had me wondering about its impact. Did it actually play a role in him turning himself in, or was it more about the pressure from the ongoing investigation? It’s astounding that so often in these cases, it takes a monetary incentive to get people to speak up. Maybe that's what finally led to a break in the case, or maybe people were just scared to come forward given the serious nature of the charges involved. I can only imagine how difficult that must be for people close to Ashton, wanting answers but being stuck in this period of uncertainty. I hope that as the legal process unfolds, we get a clearer picture of what really happened and that whatever the reward did or didn't do, it gives Ashton's family some sense of closure. Would love to hear what you all think about the role of rewards in cases like this. Do you think they really make a difference?
