I’ve been following the case of Juwan Pore-Lumpkin, and I can't stop thinking about his family. It must be incredibly difficult for them not knowing who is responsible for such a tragic loss. A lot of discussions around cases like this tend to focus on the circumstances of the crime, but I hope we can also show some compassion for the grieving loved ones. Losing someone to violence leaves a deep void, and the uncertainty of the situation surely compounds their pain. Also, I’m wondering if there might be any grassroots community efforts in the Austin neighborhood that are focusing on healing and providing support to families affected by gun violence. It's overwhelming to see the statistics, but I'm trying to stay hopeful that these communities will eventually find support, peace, and justice.
