Hi everyone, I just came across the news that a vigil is being organized in memory of Elijah "Mojo" Everett this weekend near where the shooting happened. It sounds like a really beautiful way for the community to come together and show support for Elijah's family and friends. Events like these can be such a powerful reminder of the love and unity within a community, even in the darkest times. If you're in the Homestead area, it might be a meaningful experience to attend, not just to honor Elijah's life, but also to hopefully encourage someone who might know something to step forward. Even if you can't attend, keeping his family and friends in your thoughts can make a big difference. This is such a tough time for everyone who knew him, and they need all the support they can get. Has anyone here been to vigils for similar cases? It would be great to hear how they can make an impact.

I've been following the case of Elijah "Mojo" Everett, and it's so devastating to see another promising young life cut short by senseless violence. My heart goes out to his family, especially his mother, Whitney. I can't imagine the pain of losing a child while trying to get back on your feet. I've been thinking about the location of the incident – near the intersection of Northwest 13th Street and Northwest 7th Avenue. Is anyone familiar with the area? Is it known for any particular issues, or has it seen an increase in similar incidents recently? Understanding the environment might give some insight into why something like this happened there. It's just so unfair that a mother has to grieve her son while struggling to make sense of this tragedy. Hoping the community comes together to support them and somehow bring the culprits to justice. If anyone has local info, please share it – maybe it can help in finding who did this.
