I came across this tragedy and feel compelled to mention something that's been on my mind. The injured woman who was with Eduardo at the time of the shooting—I've been thinking about her a lot. It's devastating to imagine the trauma she's enduring right now. Not only did she survive a terrifying ordeal, but she also lost someone she knew in such a violent way. I sincerely hope she has a strong support system and is receiving the care she needs, both physically and emotionally.
The fact that she is a key part of this investigation must be so much pressure, and I can't begin to understand what she must be going through. My heart goes out to her, Eduardo's family, and everyone else affected by this. I think it's important that we, as a community, provide them with the support and compassion they deserve during such a tremendously difficult time.
