I’ve been thinking a lot about the bystanders and witnesses in the Brandon Phelps and James Star case. I can’t even imagine the trauma and fear they must have felt being so close to such a tragic event. Living in a community where something like this happens can leave deep scars, even for those who didn’t know Brandon or James personally. I truly hope they have support systems in place to help them process and heal. The ripple effects of violence touch so many lives, and it’s heartbreaking to see a community suffer because of it. Sending love to everyone in Omaha who knows this pain firsthand.
