Brandon Phelps, a 17-year-old from Omaha, was tragically shot and killed on December 9, 2015, alongside 18-year-old James Star. The two were found in an SUV near 16th and Yates Streets. Authorities linked the shooting to a gang-related dispute involving Courvoisier Sims, who was only 15 at the time of the crime.
