I’ve been following Joshua Allums' case since the news broke, and my heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved him. I wanted to focus a little on community involvement in cases like these. It's tough to imagine this happening right in the midst of the holiday season, and even harder for the family to carry this pain into what should be a joyous time. I know Crime Stoppers has offered a reward, and I hope it encourages anyone with information to speak up. This incident reminds us how crucial it is for communities to stand together in times of tragedy. Sometimes it’s the smallest detail that makes the biggest difference in an investigation. If you’re in the Birmingham area or know someone who is, please encourage them to think back to December 23rd. Even if you think what you know is insignificant, it could be the missing piece detectives need. Joshua deserves justice, and his family deserves answers and peace. Let’s hope someone comes forward soon.
