I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of social media in Malik Allen’s case. It’s crazy how fast news travels these days, and it makes me wonder whether the rapid spread of information helps or hinders justice. On one hand, more people might come forward with tips after learning about Dakarian Hughley’s arrest. But there’s also the risk of spreading misinformation or jumping to conclusions without all the facts. It must be incredibly difficult for Malik’s family and friends to see so much of this unfold online. I can only imagine how overwhelming it must feel when all you want is privacy to process such a tragic loss. I hope people will be respectful and remember that there are real lives affected by what's being shared. Sending thoughts to everyone involved and hoping for peace and clarity in such a tough time.
