Hey everyone,
I've been thinking about the lack of security measures during the time Margaret Eckard and the other women were attacked at the Kearsley Home. It really makes you wonder how someone like Anthony Joyner could have had such unrestricted access. I mean, he worked in the kitchen, right? How did he manage to get into residents' rooms without being noticed or reported by other staff members?
It's a huge responsibility to care for the elderly, and this case shows the devastating consequences when that responsibility isn't taken seriously. I can't even imagine how the families must have felt, thinking their loved ones were safe in a facility designed to protect them. With Joyner working there for two years, it makes my heart ache wondering if this could have been stopped sooner with better oversight.
Is anyone aware if any changes were made to the facility's security policies after this tragedy came to light? It would be somewhat reassuring to know that steps were taken to prevent such horrors from happening again.
Thoughts and prayers to the families of the victims.
