Has anyone else thought about how vulnerable those girls must have felt? It's so chilling to think that someone posing as trustworthy and familiar could easily deceive and harm them. Judy and Bertha were just doing what so many of us did at that age—walking home with a friend after a fun night out. The idea that someone could tear their lives apart in such a brutal way is beyond tragic.
I can't help but think of the families left behind, especially Bertha's. Without her body found, they probably still hold onto that sliver of hope or yearn for closure. It's stories like these that remind me how important it is to be vigilant, teach younger generations about safety, and hopefully prevent such tragedies in the future.
I truly hope for peace and answers for all the families involved. If anyone else has more details about what the girls' lives were like or community efforts at the time, I'd love to hear or discuss further.
I've been thinking a lot about Bertha Yvonne Gould's family, and my heart really goes out to them. I can't imagine the ongoing pain they must feel, never having had the chance to bring her home. It's been decades, but they must still hold onto hope, or at least a need for closure. It seems like the case attracts a lot of speculation, but at the core, it's about a young girl's life cut tragically short.
This whole situation is just a grim reminder of how easily trust can be manipulated by people like Hohenberger. The fact that he was able to use his background in law enforcement to gain their confidence still sends chills down my spine. I wish that Bertha's family could have the answers they deserve. And for all of us out here, maybe this serves as a call to remain vigilant and always question our surroundings. Stay safe, everyone.
