Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about how Sandra Botelho and the other victims of the New Bedford Highway Killer were all struggling with addiction or involved in sex work, and how that might have influenced the investigation at the time. It's so frustrating to consider that societal stigma could have played a role in how much attention these cases received. Each of these women had their own stories and struggles, and it's important to remember that they were someone's daughter, sister, or friend. I can’t help but feel for Sandra's family, who must still be searching for answers after all these years. It really makes you wonder if different resources or approaches might have changed the outcome of this investigation. I'm also curious about what people think regarding how we might approach similar cases differently today. Has there been progress in how law enforcement handles cases involving vulnerable populations? Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this. Stay safe out there.
