I've been following the case of Joan Butler and it's been haunting. One thing that really stands out to me is how Richard Grissom Jr. was able to blend into the community despite the sinister life he was leading. He was known as someone who worked as a house painter and hung out at discos in Lawrence, and yet he managed to perpetuate this horrific double life. It's chilling to think that he was in possession of Joan's car and yet the authorities couldn't find her or the other women's bodies. It's like he vanished them without a trace. I can't imagine what that must be like for Joan's family, living with so many uncertainties and questions that may never be answered. The bravery and dedication of Joan's family and the other victims’ families deserve so much respect, remaining hopeful for justice and answers even after all these years. I hope one day they get the closure they deserve. What are your thoughts on how someone like Grissom could hide in plain sight for so long?
