Did anyone ever delve into the background checks of staff at the Northampton VA hospital before Kristen Gilbert's indictment? It's shocking to think how easily someone with suspect behavior managed to work for years in such a sensitive environment. I feel deeply for Henry Hudon's family and the families of other victims. They must have felt so betrayed by a place meant to heal and protect. Given the magnitude of these betrayals, it seems like there should have been more oversight on staff behavior and medical anomalies much earlier. I really hope this case has led to significant changes in how hospitals monitor both patient care and staff conduct. It's crucial that we ensure the safety of our loved ones in medical facilities. If anyone has info on policy changes post-Gilbert at VA hospitals, I’d love to hear about it.
