I've been reading up on the tragic case of Juan Rodriguez and the others who lost their lives in the 1986 Bronx shooting. It’s so difficult to comprehend how senseless violence upended these lives. I’ve especially been thinking about the families of the victims—four men gone in an instant. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for them to live through the media frenzy surrounding Larry Davis and the subsequent trial. The trial must have opened raw wounds for those families, especially with the verdict of Davis being acquitted of the murders. Even with the focus on police corruption, it doesn't change the fact that lives were brutally taken that day. It’s reminders like these that underscore the ripple effects of crime, not just affecting those directly involved but entire families and communities. Sending thoughts and prayers to the families who had to navigate the aftermath of such a traumatic event. They’ve been in my mind since I dived into this case. ?️
