I've been thinking a lot about the work Joseph Bradehoft put into building a future for his family, only to have it stolen away so cruelly. It’s so upsetting to imagine him moving to Milwaukee, full of hope and determination, just trying to provide a better life for his wife and kids. He must have been a devoted husband and father, and it really breaks my heart to think about how his family must have felt as the news unfolded. They deserved so much more time with him, and Joseph deserved to watch his children grow up. It's such a gut-wrenching reminder of how Dahmer's actions left terrible voids in so many lives. My thoughts are with his family, who had to somehow pick up the pieces and go on after such an unimaginable loss.

Has anyone else thought about the immense courage it must have taken for Joseph Bradehoft to make the move from Minnesota to Milwaukee? Uprooting his life, leaving his family temporarily behind to support them better financially, is something not everyone would have the strength to do. It's gut-wrenching to think that his pursuit of a better life for his loved ones led to such a tragic encounter. I can't help but reflect on how underrepresented his story feels in the grand narrative. While so much focus is on Dahmer and the disturbing details of his crimes, Joseph's courage, his dreams, and the loving father and husband he was, tend to be overshadowed. Let’s remember him for the life he lived and the sacrifices he made, not just the way he died. My thoughts are with his family and the struggle they must endure to carry on without him. If there are any locals in Milwaukee who can share how the community has been remembering Joseph, it would be heartening to hear.
