Can we take a moment to talk about the terrifying lack of oversight in the medical community that this case illustrates? I mean, Sean Quigley was clearly struggling with addiction for nearly a decade. Yet, Dr. Blatti continued to prescribe him massive quantities of opioids, completely ignoring the signs that his health was in rapid decline. It’s infuriating to think that this situation could have been avoided if there had been proper checks in place to monitor prescribing patterns. What’s truly shocking is the ease with which Blatti doled out prescriptions, frequently without even meeting patients in person. It really makes you wonder about the systems—or lack thereof—that allowed this to happen for so long. My heart goes out to Sean’s loved ones and all the families affected by this tragedy. They’ve truly been through an unimaginable ordeal. The medical community absolutely needs to step up and ensure these kinds of preventable deaths don’t happen again. What are your thoughts on how we can push for better regulations? Sending strength and support to all who were impacted.
