I was reading through some old files about the case, and I can't stop thinking about the community's initial reaction to Jerry Hobbs. I mean, here's a dad who finds his own daughter and her friend brutally murdered, and instead of being given support, he's immediately thought to be guilty because of his past. I get that his history raised suspicions, but I'm still wondering how things might have been different if there was a little more empathy from the start. It seems like everyone was quick to judge without fully considering the trauma he must have been going through in that moment. Now, looking at it years later, it's unsettling to think how easily public perception can be swayed, especially when a tragedy hits close to home. I feel for both the families who lost their daughters and Jerry for losing those crucial years with his family. It's a reminder to not jump to conclusions and to let justice take its course—with the evidence at the forefront. Thoughts?
