Hi everyone, I've been following Robert Duane Lopeman's case for a while, and there's something that's been bugging me. It's strange to me that he was only reported missing in 2012, four whole years after he actually vanished. I understand that sometimes families don't immediately report for various reasons, but does anyone know if there were any specific obstacles or reasons that delayed the report in Robert's case? It's a big gap, and any insight into why his family took so long could maybe shed some light or lead to other questions that need answers. Thanks!

Hey folks, I’ve been going through the case details about Robert Duane Lopeman, and I can’t stop thinking about the delay in reporting him missing. Why do you all think it took until 2012 for his family to officially report him? It's concerning that four whole years passed before anything was formally initiated. It makes me wonder about the dynamics within his family and their contact with him after he was released from Western State Hospital. Was there some reason they thought he was okay during that time? Maybe they were estranged or didn’t realize the urgency. Anyone have insights or know of similar cases where the missing person went unreported for so long?
