I was recently looking into Eric Smith’s case from Cahokia, and something that caught my eye was the lack of any CCTV footage from around the time he went missing. Given it was 2008, there might not have been as many cameras around, but it feels like someone must have seen something. Does anyone know if local businesses or the area he was last seen in had any kind of surveillance? It's strange there haven't been any sightings or even rumors that could provide some potential leads. I wonder if there have been any community efforts to track down old footage or witness statements from that time. Sometimes going around and asking people who lived nearby or worked there might jog some memories.

I've been going through cases of missing persons and came across Eric Smith's disappearance from 2008 in Cahokia, Illinois. I find it puzzling how someone can vanish without leaving even the smallest trace behind. I’m wondering if anyone has looked into nearby surveillance cameras from that time? Even though the tech wasn't as widely used as today, maybe businesses or traffic cams around Cahokia had something? It feels like those might hold some untapped clues. Would love to hear thoughts or if anyone has info on whether this angle was thoroughly checked. Keep hoping for answers for Eric’s family.
