I came across this case recently, and it got me thinking about how tactical procedures have possibly evolved since Deputy Kovar's tragic death. It’s hard not to feel for his family and colleagues who lost someone so dedicated and selfless. Splitting up during a call like this seems incredibly risky, and I wonder if current protocols have changed to mitigate such dangers for officers today. I also read that Deputy Kovar did manage to wound the suspect before succumbing to his injuries. It shows his bravery and commitment to protecting the community even in a life-threatening situation. Does anyone here have insights or thoughts on how training or strategies might have adapted over the years to prevent similar tragedies?
