I’ve been thinking a lot about Mike Allred lately and how one moment of courage cost him so much. From everything I've read, Mike seemed to always have a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone who walked into O'Neill's. It’s gut-wrenching to think that this act of bravery, trying to stop a situation from getting worse, led to such a tragic end for him. I can’t help but feel for his family and friends who clearly lost someone so irreplaceable. The ripples from this senseless act of violence have undoubtedly spread far and wide, touching all who knew him and even those of us who are just learning about his story now. How are his loved ones coping all these years later? My thoughts are with them.

I just came across a small but interesting detail that caught my attention while reading about Michael Allred’s murder case. Apparently, he had a regular shift at O’Neill’s Sports Tavern and was well-known among the regular patrons. It sounds like Mike was truly someone who looked out for his community and friends, always ready to help. I’ve read that the night of the shooting, he had actually swapped shifts with another bartender. It makes you think about the small choices we make every day, and how tragically, they can sometimes lead to unintended consequences. It breaks my heart to think of the 'what ifs' his family might be struggling with. I hope they’ve found some peace, knowing how much he was loved by so many. Has anyone else heard about this?
