I can't stop thinking about the sheer courage Sarah showed in her final moments. Knowing she was in imminent danger, she still found the strength to call 911 and name her father as the shooter. It's incredibly sad to think that this brave young girl had to use her last breaths to try and save herself and her sister. Her call not only provided crucial evidence against Yaser but also highlighted the urgency of addressing and preventing honor-based violence. I hope that by discussing these issues more openly, we can create a future where no child feels unsafe in their own family. My heart goes out to Sarah and Amina’s loved ones, who have to grapple with the absence of these two vibrant souls.

I’ve been following this case for a while now, and something that really sticks out to me is how incredibly brave Sarah was in her final moments. I can’t even begin to imagine the fear and pain she must have endured, yet she found the strength to make that 911 call and identify her father as the shooter. That call was crucial not only in proving what happened but also in giving her a voice, even when she knew the end was near. It's gut-wrenching to think about the emotional turmoil these girls faced, fearing their own father. Sarah and Amina deserved so much more than they received, and their voices should be a reminder that no one should ever be subjected to such heinous acts, especially from someone they should have been able to trust. I hope this case continues to shed light on the horrific reality of honor-based violence, and that Sarah and Amina’s story inspires change. The strength Sarah showed should never be forgotten, and my heart goes out to their family and friends who have had to endure such an unimaginable loss.
