I've been following the tragic case of Sergeant Kenneth Gary Vann Sr., and one aspect that just doesn’t sit right with me is the sheer randomness and senselessness of the attack. It's chilling to think about how Sergeant Vann was just out there doing his job, responding to a non-emergency call, and suddenly he's ambushed at a red light. It feels like such a brutal reminder of the dangers that law enforcement officers face every single day, even when it seems like a routine shift. I can't even begin to imagine the shock and pain his family must have gone through, especially his wife, who also serves with the sheriff’s office. Losing a partner in such a violent and unexpected way... it's just unimaginable. I hope they found some solace in the justice system holding Gonzales accountable, but no sentence can ever replace a loved one lost. My thoughts go out to the Vann family and the entire Bexar County community.
