I was thinking about the impact the trial venue change had on the case. Moving Green's trial from West Texas to South Texas must have been a big decision. Do any locals or legal buffs have insights on why this might have been necessary? I imagine the small community of McCamey had a lot of emotions and opinions about Bubba’s tragic death, and maybe a fair trial would have been difficult there. This case seems to highlight the balance between ensuring justice for the family and avoiding any potential bias. My heart goes out to Deputy Kennedy's family and colleagues, who had to endure the legal proceedings on top of their loss. I can only hope they found some measure of solace through the jury's verdict.
