I keep thinking about the impact on the children who were left behind, the 16-year-olds and the daughter-in-law who witnessed the tragedy. It's hard to imagine the trauma they must be experiencing after being in the house during such a horrific event. These young people were thrust into a situation that no one should ever have to face.
Being present at the scene, escaping unharmed physically doesn’t take away the mental scars. I hope they're receiving the support and counseling they need to process this. The community seems close-knit based on what I've read, so hopefully, they're surrounded by people who care and are looking out for them. It's during times like these that community support can really make a difference.
Also, huge respect for the bravery shown by Perez's daughter-in-law in immediately identifying Monge in the 911 call. That must've taken immense courage under pressure. Her quick thinking no doubt helped the police swiftly piece together what happened. My thoughts are with all of them right now.
I was looking into the heartbreaking story of Fanny Judith Perez and came across something that struck me about the scene on Rainier Street that day. I can only imagine how terrifying it must have been for those who were present in the house. It's chilling to think that two teenagers and another adult had to witness such a traumatic event. They were incredibly lucky to escape unharmed and it must have taken tremendous courage to call 911 amidst all that chaos.
What stands out to me is the strength of Perez's daughter-in-law, who managed to identify Marvin Monge in such a terrifying moment. It takes incredible presence of mind to provide crucial information to law enforcement while dealing with the immediate shock and distress of the incident. I can't imagine the emotional turmoil she must have gone through during and after the event. My heart goes out to all of Fanny's family and friends as they navigate through the aftermath of this tragedy.
If anyone knows how the children and others who were present are doing now, years down the line, I'd appreciate an update. It's important to support those who survive such violent events, ensuring they have the help and resources they need to heal and move forward.
