Hi everyone, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how quickly everything escalated in the Shawn Summers and Jessica Payton case. From what I've read, Mark Bethel's reaction was extreme and catastrophic. Did the prosecution ever present any background info about him having a history of violence or unstable behavior? It's just so difficult to imagine how anyone could plan and execute such a brutal crime. I can't stop thinking about the fear Shawn must have felt; being lured into such a horrific trap, essentially cut off from any chance of help. My heart truly goes out to his family and friends. What a devastating loss. If anyone has any insights into the psychological side of this, I’d love to hear your thoughts. It’s just so haunting to think about. Stay safe out there, everyone.
