I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact on Jakoyian Deion Ervin and what he must be going through. To survive such a traumatic event physically is one thing, but I can’t imagine the emotional and psychological aftermath of losing Dijon in such a violent way. It must be incredibly difficult to process, knowing that he was with a friend one moment, and the next, everything changed forever. I hope Jakoyian has a strong support system around him to help navigate this journey. Survivors of gun violence often face a long road to healing, and it’s important we remember that part too while seeking justice for Dijon. If anyone in the community has insight or context that could help solve this investigation, I truly believe sharing it could make a difference—not only for Dijon’s family but for Jakoyian and everyone affected by this tragedy.
