I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact that Billy Dale Stacks’ murder must have had on the Tyler community. Losing someone in such a violent way, especially when they’re just doing their job, seems so senseless. Local residents must have felt a mix of fear and grief, knowing something like this could happen in their own neighborhood. I can’t imagine how it affected his family and friends, not to mention the people who regularly visited that Conoco gas station. It's a reminder of how fragile life is and how one night shift can unexpectedly alter so many lives. I hope the community found some way to heal and support each other through such a horrific event. Does anyone know if there were any memorials held for Billy or any community initiatives started in his memory?
