Michael Clayton ’Clay’ Robinson, 51, of Universal City, Texas, was killed during a home invasion on October 10, 2017. Robinson, a physician assistant active in his church and community, was armed with his 9mm Glock when his wife alerted him to a possible intruder around 2:30 a.m. He confronted the intruder, identified as 18-year-old Jonathan Andrew Perales, and a shootout followed. Robinson was fatally shot once in the torso; Perales was shot twice and later taken into custody.
Perales was charged with capital murder. Investigators say he had broken into Robinson’s home and was suspected in several nearby burglaries; items from Robinson’s home were recovered in a stolen vehicle driven by Perales. Robinson’s family, friends, and former patients remembered him for his dedication and care.
If anyone knew Robinson, his routines, or saw suspicious activity in the neighborhood around October 10, 2017, please share what you know.
