Has anyone else found it particularly distressing how frequent the police visits were to the Westward Square Apartments even before the terrible incident with Ashley? It makes me wonder why there wasn't more done to prevent something like this from happening. The community seemed to be facing ongoing issues, and yet, it feels like those concerns weren't addressed effectively. The loss of such a young life is just unbearably sad, and my heart aches for her family every day this case remains unsolved. I hope the voices calling for change are heard and that Ashley's family gets the justice they so desperately deserve.

I’ve been following the case of Ashley Perdomo, and I keep thinking about how unsettling it is that the shooter managed to flee without a trace. It’s alarming that no clear motive has been established, which makes it feel like nothing was senselessly taken away from this innocent child and her family. It's frustrating and deeply troubling that someone out there knows what happened that night and has chosen to remain silent. The police have had their hands full with the disturbing frequency of incidents at the Westward Square Apartments, but this tragedy screams for justice. I hope anyone with information finds it in their heart to come forward. If increased police presence and community efforts can prevent such horror from striking another family, then conversations and collective action must start happening. Pulled apart by grief, Ashley’s family deserves answers, and our community must stand by them in their search for justice.

I wanted to discuss the effect this devastating event had on the Gulfton community and how it reflects larger issues in neighborhood safety. Living near Westward Square Apartments myself, I've noticed a mix of fear and determination to prevent further tragedies. There’s a lot of talk among residents about how often emergency services used to be called to the area before Ashley's tragic death. People around here have been pushing hard for more police patrols and better lighting in the breezeways. Some even started walking kids to and from school to ensure they’re safe. It's inspiring to see neighbors coming together, but at the same time, it's deeply troubling that it took a tragedy like this to ignite such action. I can’t help but think about how Ashley’s family must feel, struggling both with their loss and the need for justice. The fact that the shooter hasn't been caught is a constant reminder of the work that still needs to be done. I believe we need to keep supporting each other and demand accountability to prevent this from happening again. Thoughts on how communities can push for lasting change?
