Did anyone else follow the trial of Cassius Shakembe Williams and Rozman Rah-saan Shannon Jr.? I was struck by how quickly the case seemed to move along, especially considering the complexity involving both families. It’s just so tough to process how decisions made in a split second can destroy so many lives. I can’t imagine what Dalton's family is going through as they try to cope with this senseless loss. On a separate note, I came across some old interviews with Erik Williams, and it made me think about how hard it must be for him to grapple with his son’s actions. There are so many layers of tragedy in this case, and I truly hope that some small measure of justice will help bring closure to the families involved. My heart goes out to those deeply affected, and I sincerely hope that this will discourage similar tragedies in the future.
