I've been following this case since the news broke, and I can't stop thinking about Melonie Johnson's family. The fact that Kenneth Hubert was out on parole after a previous murder conviction is deeply concerning. It makes me wonder how someone with such a violent past could be deemed safe to reintegrate into society. I hope this case brings much-needed scrutiny to the parole board's decisions and the risks they pose to public safety. The system clearly failed Melonie and her loved ones, and I can only imagine how they must feel knowing that this tragedy might have been preventable. How many more times are we going to hear about people getting hurt or killed because of the same old mistakes? The system needs fixing, and it needs it now.
