Hey everyone, just stumbled upon a really intriguing detail about the Richard Kirby Windsor case and wanted to share. Has anyone else read about Juniper Island's history? It's fascinating how it's been a spot for some strange happenings over the years, long before the plane wreckage was found nearby. There have been countless tales of ghost ships and mysterious lights on the water—it almost brings an eerie layer to the crash mystery, doesn't it? Given how close the wreckage was discovered to the island, it makes you wonder about any possible connections. Could these local legends have affected the search efforts back in the day? Anyway, just thought this added an interesting twist to an already puzzling case! Would love to hear your thoughts on this or any other unusual historical connections surrounding Lake Champlain.
Hey everyone,
I’ve been diving into the Richard Kirby Windsor case recently, and something that puzzles me is why there weren't more immediate efforts to thoroughly search Lake Champlain once the jet vanished. I understand the severe winter conditions back in '71 must have been challenging, but does anyone know if there were alternative technologies or methods available at the time that could have been used to cope with such situations?
Considering the weather, I wonder if there were any breakthroughs in sonar technology in the years immediately following that might have helped in a more timely discovery. It’s incredible (and a bit frustrating!) how this puzzle wasn’t partially solved until modern tech came into play over 50 years later. I know there's been talk about how the cold actually helped preserve the wreckage, but it's wild it took this long for the location to be pinpointed. Makes you think about what other mysteries are hidden beneath the surface, literally and figuratively.
Would love to hear thoughts on search and recovery techniques used during that era vs. now!
Cheers!
