I was just reading through some updates on the Zacchaeus Banks case, and I've been thinking about how terrifying it must be for the young people in that community now. It breaks my heart to imagine the fear that Zacchaeus and his friends must have felt in those moments. The Roseland Community Center was supposed to be a safe space for them, and it’s just gut-wrenching to see that taken away by such a senseless act. I hope someone comes forward with information soon because the community deserves to heal and see some justice. My thoughts are with the families affected; no parent should have to endure such a loss.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of community spaces like the Roseland Community Center in neighborhoods and how essential they are. It’s devastating that such a tragic event happened in a place meant for safety and togetherness. I can't even begin to imagine the level of fear and sadness it has brought to everyone who used to find solace there. Covering the bullet holes with motivational signs is such a poignant attempt to reclaim hope and rebuild, but it's clear the community needs more than that. It’s times like these when we need to come together and strengthen our communities to prevent another tragedy like what happened to Zacchaeus and Gregory. My heart goes out to their families and friends, and I really hope the police can find whoever did this. It's unbearable to see young lives end so violently without any answers or justice.

I've been reflecting a lot on the aftermath of what happened to Zacchaeus Banks and Gregory Horton III. It's truly devastating to think how quickly life can change for young individuals with so much potential ahead of them. I've seen some folks discuss the immediate impact on their families, and as we all try to process this senseless violence, my mind keeps going back to the Roseland Community Center itself. I can't imagine what it's like for the staff and volunteers there. They've always been pillars of support and activity for the neighborhood, and now they’re faced with the task of trying to bring some kind of comfort and normalcy to a place marked by such a horrific act. Those motivational signs might seem like a small gesture, but sometimes small gestures are all we have to try and mend what’s been broken. My heart goes out to the families of Zacchaeus and Gregory, the injured teens, and everyone affected—and I hope community efforts strengthen as they navigate through this tragedy. How can we further support our community centers to help combat these issues and make them safe havens once again?
