I’ve been following the case of Robert John Dendy, and I can’t help but think about the impact his actions had on his community. It’s extraordinary to see someone like Dendy act so selflessly in the face of danger. Not everyone would have had the courage to confront burglars like that. It’s so devastating for his family to lose someone who was evidently such a pillar of strength and compassion. I’m really hoping that while justice is sought in court, his community finds ways to honor his bravery and generosity. Perhaps through community initiatives or even scholarships in his name? It feels important to remember who he was and what he stood for, to carry on his legacy, especially for his children and grandchildren. How is everyone doing in Lubbock in the wake of this? Are there any gatherings or memorials planned? Thinking of all who are grieving his loss.
