Has anyone else read about the connection between 8chan and the El Paso shooting? I can't help but wonder how these online platforms still manage to operate given the kind of dangerous content they can facilitate. It's so disheartening to think that a platform could play a role in something as tragic as this. The fact that the Englisbee family once filed a lawsuit against them speaks volumes about the impact they believe such platforms have. While I understand why they decided to drop the lawsuit, I can't imagine the heartbreak and frustration they must have felt during that process. It raises a lot of questions about accountability and how we can prevent such tragedies in the future. My thoughts are with the Englisbee family and all of the victims' families as they navigate this unbelievably difficult time.
I've been following the El Paso shooting case closely, and one aspect that really stands out to me is the immense struggle facing the families of the victims. I read about how the Englisbees, along with other families, decided to drop their lawsuit. I can’t imagine how tough that decision must have been. On the one hand, it’s a pursuit of justice for their dear Angelina and the others lost, but on the other, they have these ongoing criminal proceedings and the murky waters of legalities further complicated by the pandemic. My heart goes out to them for having to navigate such a challenging situation on top of their grief. This case is a stark reminder of how important it is for our society to come together and build bridges, so senseless tragedies like this stop. Sending my thoughts to William Englisbee and everyone else affected. May the community’s resilience continue to be a beacon of hope.
