Has anyone else noticed how this case seems to have taken a backseat, despite the tragic circumstances surrounding Mr. Alcantara's death? I mean, here's a hardworking guy just trying to support his family, and he got caught up in something that had nothing to do with him. It breaks my heart for his wife and child back in Mexico. I can’t even imagine the shock and grief they must be feeling. I was thinking about the area where it happened—has anyone here lived near the 4900 block of Terry Street in East Dallas? From what I've read, it sounds like a tough neighborhood already teetering on the edge. Knowing there was already a murder at that same place just ten days earlier makes me wonder why there wasn't more attention from law enforcement in the area. Is this kind of thing common there, or does it just seem like a series of horribly unfortunate events? Also, I really hope someone has the courage to speak up. Detective White seems genuinely committed to solving this, and it could help a lot if more people felt safe enough to come forward. Sending thoughts to all those who knew and loved Mr. Alcantara during this incredibly difficult time.
