I’ve been thinking a lot about Louis North Selig's case lately, especially the detail about his tattoos. Tattoos can be really memorable, and I'm wondering if they could trigger someone's memory from back then. Portland is such an artsy city, even in the 80s, and those tattoos might have been quite standout. Does anyone know if there were small tattoo shops that he frequented, or if he was connected to any tattoo artists in the area? I feel like someone in the local tattoo scene could have seen or heard something back then. If anyone here has connections or stories from that time, maybe we can piece something together? Let’s hope this thread can bring forward any overlooked details.
Louis' case caught my attention because of its timing—August 15, 1984. Was anyone else struck by how different things were back then in terms of technology? We didn't have cell phones or social media, which makes me wonder if it hindered the investigation. Could there have been more witnesses or leads if the case happened today? The fact that Louis was heading to band practice especially stands out. Was anyone around then who might have seen him on his way? Portland’s music scene was pretty vibrant in the '80s, and it's frustrating to think there might be someone who crossed paths with Louis but hasn't realized their potential connection to this mystery. If you were active in the music scene back then or knew someone who was, it might be worth reaching out to see if there's any chance they recall Louis or remember hearing something about that day. Who knows, a small detail might make all the difference.
